SLEEP STRIP - Sleep Apnoea Screening Device £30.00
This clever little disposable Sleep Strip is a quick and easy way of checking for the likelihood of undiagnosed sleep apnoea. It is a single-use Sleep Apnoea Test which is placed above the top lip for one night of sleep. 3 miniature flow sensors monitor respiration all through the night. The integrated microprocessor analyses respiration patterns to detect and count each Apnoea (stopping breathing episode) and Hypopnoea (shallow breathing episodes) as it occurs. The morning after the study, the Apnoea severity score is calculated, based on the person's Apnoea/Hypopnoea Index (AHI). This is permanently displayed on the built-in electrochemical display, and can be shown to your GP if necessary.
The Sleep Strip is a complete all-in-one system with no need for additional equipment, and the study results are revealed the morning after, directly onto the built-in display.
The display will show a number, to be interpreted as:-
- 0 = Low risk of sleep apnoea (less than 15 events per hour)
- 1 = Mild risk of sleep apnoea (15-24 events per hour)
- 2 = Moderate risk of sleep apnoea (25-39 events per hour)
- 3 = Severe risk of sleep apnoea (40 or more events per hour)
- E = Error - study too short or other problems
IMPORTANT
- The Sleep Strip is not designed for use on children.
- An AHI of less than 15 does not mean that no apnoeas or hypopnoeas have occured.
- Further investigation is STRONGLY advised with readings of 1-3. You should visit your GP to be referred for a full sleep test on the NHS or contact a private sleep expert. Please feel free to contact us for further advice and support.
- This item CANNOT BE SHIPPED TO THE US as US Federal Law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.
