AG Industries

Another more cost-effective robust Chinstrap by AG Industries to help keep the jaw supported.

This Premium III Chinstrap is a good choice for people needing more support in keeping their mouth closed during sleep.  Like one of the more expensive Philips' chinstraps, it promotes a vertical angle, as opposed to horizontal, to help reduce the potential of inducing sleep-related events.

There is an integrated chin cup at the bottom bottom providing comfortable support and the main thick straps adjust at the crown of the head, and this measures  approx 2" (35 cm) wide x 27" (69 cm) long.   There is a vertical slot on the main chinstrap so that the additional slimmer strap which goes around the back of the head, giving more stability to prevent slipping, can be fed through this slot to allow the velcro to fold back to secure it.

Chinstraps can be helpful for people who prefer nasal masks to full face ones to help keep the mouth closed, but do bear in mind that if you have a lot of nasal congestion it can prove difficult to nasal breathe all night.  There are various products to try to help with this, such as the Snoreeze Nasal Strips and/or natural nasal sprays or prescribed ones.

Some people who wear a full face mask can still have a problem with their mouth falling open which causes a dry mouth and the jaw sometimes slips out of the bottom of the mask, so a chin strap can be helpful in this case too.

I have tried other chin straps but without a band to attach around the back of the head, they all slip off my head. This one fits snugly and is comfortable under my chin.

Good that better priced alternatives exist, but not perfect
30 July 2023  |

I'm comparing with the Respironics I use. Firstly I appreciate that there are other manufacturers producing better priced alternatives. For me it was Ok, but not great. The neoprene was too stiff for me and did not provide the elasticity to comfortably keep my jaw closed. The Respironics is nicely elastic but is expensive and stretches permanently too easily, so while it works well it requires replacing too soon (I do a bit of creative cutting and sewing to prolong its effective lifespan). Premium 3, I purchased 2 of them, was OK, but I prefer the better elasticity of the Respironics. I've not found an ideal chin strap yet !

Thanks for the review and we would recommend you try the Dual Band Chinstrap which is definitely the best of them all, but please make sure your measure for the correct size which is crucial.

Not the greatest but not the worst

Lots of padding on the head strap but nothing under the chin where it's needed so the seams dig into your chin. I found it hot to wear in bed too and so won't be using it sorry.

Please don't apologise. Chinstraps are so difficult as, like masks, the same one doesn't work for everyone. We wish they did.

Much better than other reviews suggest!
07 September 2022  |

I'm leaving this review as this chinstrap is way better than others have experienced. I'd say it is one of the best I have had. I find it comfortable, and it doesn't pull my chin back like some others have done. I use it with a full face mask (F30) and find it stops leaks and has sorted my dry mouth problems. I previously had to use Xylimelts. Buying a new one as after over a year of use it's losing a bit if stretch.

Thanks for your review David, and we only wish we could guarantee the products work well for everyone, but just like the masks, 'what suits one person won't always suit another.' So glad this chinstrap works well for you though 😊

Not as good as I had hoped
14 January 2021  |

Having successfully used the deluxe chinstrap for a while I did find it a bit too wide, in that it cut into my ears and tended to be too tight on my throat if it slipped a bit. So I bought the premium one as I could see it was narrower so assumed it would be more comfortable. I like the width of it as it fits my face better, the chin part isn’t as wide a ‘ cup’ as I expected so it can cut in a bit. I think some padding in this area would be beneficial. As for doing it’s job, my results showed zero mask seal on the few nights I used it. This, I know, is from my mouth breathing. So this chin strap doesn’t appear to be strong enough to stop me opening my mouth. So I have reverted to using the other one.
I’d like to try again by tightening this one more but I’ve already got it really tight. Anymore would be very uncomfortable.

That's a shame Steve, but thanks for your review which will help others. It's so hard as so ofte we have to try the different products to find out which work best for us. Look out for news of a new chinstrap we're hoping good be a gamechanger.....
Also, it's worth pointing out that the Dr Dakota Neck Cushion is very often a good alternative to chinstraps for many people.

Waste of money
10 January 2021  |

I bought this to replace the chin strap the hostpital supplied me as it was uncomfortable and would slip off my head. So I bought this one as it was not as expensive as some on here but it is useless I have used it for a week and it is falling apart not worth £5 let alone the £20 I paid

Response:

We've never heard of one falling apart after a week, and wish you'd contacted us about this rather than a review so we could have looked into it and refunded you. You are still welcome to do this.

ORDERS

Shipping

We try our best to ship all orders received by us Monday-Friday on the same working day if received before 12 noon, and more often than not orders processed before 3pm will be despatched the same day whenever possible.  Weekend or UK bank holiday orders are sent out the next working day.  An automated email is sent when products have been despatched so please check your spam box and add us to your safe senders list.  Also, if you do not receive an email confirmation, please check that you have typed the correct email address in your account.

All orders are sent via 1st class mail within the UK.  Masks and some other more expensive products are always sent via 'signed for' insured delivery and cannot be left in 'safe' places, but there is the option for an alternative shipping address when processing the orders.

Delivery charges are worked out automatically by weight and you can clearly see the delivery charges before making a payment.  On the rare occasion delivery charges are miscalculated by the website, a refund will be sent, as it is not our policy to make money on postage charges and neither do we add the cost of delivery into the price and offer so-called  'free delivery' like some sites and Ebay pressurise sellers to do!

Wherever possible with larger parcels, we try to re-use boxes to keep shipping costs down and protect the environment.

If a product is out of stock and the order contains multiple items, the 'in stock' items will be sent immediately and further items will follow upon arrival with no further postage charges incurred.

Important for International Orders

We can ship most products internationally, but all prices are in UK British Pounds and if paying by debit or credit card the bank will automatically convert to the current conversation rate.  Likewise, if you choose the Paypal option, they will convert into your currency for you as payment is made.

International orders are sent via tracked Airmail, and whilst we're happy to ship internationally, we cannot be held responsible for any delays at Customs at your end, or charges that may be added in your own country, such as customs fees and import tax on delivery, which are determined by your country’s import laws and are beyond our control. Therefore, it is the customer’s responsibility to pay these charges, and certain courier companies will not be able to deliver the goods to you without pre-payment of any charges. From our experience, it appears to be randomised as to which parcels incur extra charges, but please know that all accompanying paperwork is filled in correctly when shipping and there is nothing more we can do, as much as we'd like to.

If you purchase from us out of the UK or you move to another country after purchasing products, please be aware that the warranty for CPAP machines, masks and parts from the manufacturers are under warranty  with the manufacturer based in the UK, so you will be responsible for sending the product back to us and will need to pay postage to get the product back to you after exchange or repair, as the manufacturer will not pay for shipping in any country outside of the UK.

RETURNS

Masks, CPAP machines and and most other products are exempt from a refund or exchange unless faulty due to health and hygiene issues - as stated in our 'Terms and Conditions', and in particular due to the risk of cross contamination as they cannot be re-sold. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 28.(3)(a) confirms exemption as follows:-  "exemption in the case of a contract for the supply of sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, if they become unsealed after delivery."

Unopened (sealed) products in their original packing can be returned within 14 days for a refund of the product cost, but the purchaser is to pay the return postage, and we would advise retaining proof of postage. This excludes any faulty goods, for which postage will be reimbursed.  A full refund for the price of the product will be issued when received by us, less the original postage charges when the order was sent to you.
