This new Amara View really is the first mask of it's kind, in that as well as full face mask users being able to wear reading glasses, there are NO nasal pillows requiring insertion into the nostrils, as there is an opening for the base of the nose to sit into, with this under-the-nose design. Nasal bridge sores really will be a thing of the past with this mask!

This new Amara View Mask really is proving to have high success rates amongst patients, which is indeed a good sign as getting the 'right' mask is a very individual selection process, and it is much harder to get a minimal contact mask for mouth breathers.

Hope2Sleep's Observations:-

  • Completely won over by the way the base of the nose goes into the nostril hole on the mask, and the edges of the hole create the good seal by clinging to the nose.
  • Amara 'View' is certainly a good name for this mask due to being able to wear reading glasses and for the way it offers a wide field of vision!
  • Very lightweight mask overall, compared to many other full face masks.
  • Very soft silicone cushion.
  • Marvellous to have no nasal bridge discomfort or sores, and no part of the mask causing pressure underneath the eyes.
  • Convenient quick release clips on small tubing for going to the bathroom without having to take off the mask.
  • Easy to clean and re-assemble.
  • All mask cushions (small, medium and large) fit the same frame, and it would be rare to have to purchase a whole new mask, as most parts can be bought separately, as and when required.

Philips Respironics says:-

Enjoy the view - the widest field of vision of all leading full face masks! An idea whose time has come.......

The Amara View’s incredible under-the-nose design makes it the only full face mask that won’t cause red marks on the bridge of your nose when compared to the market leaders. Amara View is also the smallest, lightest and has the widest field of vision of all leading full face masks. It’s easy to wear glasses, read, watch TV, and use a computer or tablet.

  • Innovative design prevents red marks, discomfort or irritation on the nose bridge.
  • The smallest and lightest of all leading full face masks.
  • Widest field of vision of all leading full face masks.
  • Enables wearing glasses, reading, and watching TV.
  • Easy to use with one modular frame for all cushion sizes.
  • No bulky cushion and frame in front of your face and eyes.

Unlike most full face masks, Amara View’s cushion size is determined by measuring the depth of the nose using the simple sizing gauge. Amara View covers less of a patient’s face than all leading full face masks. (An observation noted is that when people appear to be on the borderline of 2 sizes, selecting the smaller size seems to work better).

The Amara View comes in sizes Small, Medium or Large and the standard headgear and small mask mini tubing is included. Additional Extras can be bought of the following:-

  • Headgear (in standard or large)
  • Mask Cushions (all sizes can be used with the frame)
  • Headgear Clips
  • Short Tube

Best mask I've had so far, but...
Monday, 30 October 2017  |

I had heard a lot of good things about the Amara View but also a few that didn't like it at all, I wanted to try it but knew it was a gamble, no mask will suit everyone. I am a glasses wearer so part of the appeal was to have a mask that would not make the red mark on my nose become worse, that is certainly being affective. But most importantly, the mask is working very well for me, I am consistently getting an AHI reading below 1.0 and even achieved a 0.1 on one occasion, whereas with my previous mask I was averaging about 2.8, still good I know but always encouraging to get as low as possible AHI.
It took some perseverance and fine tuning however, I found that positioning and minor strap adjustments were critical so spent a lot of time getting this right. I do get some leaks at higher pressures but nothing major and I am finding it is encouraging me to side sleep more which keeps the events to a minimum and in turn keeps the required pressures lower.
The clips and connecting hose are a little noisy if I have to refit during the night, there is room for improvement but overall I am very happy with my Amara View.
Make sure you download a sizing guide before buying, as this mask is about the length of your nose and not the size of your face, I am normally a large but for this mask I am a small.

Good to hear this is the best mask for you so far Malcolm, and excellent tip on the importance of using the sizing gauge as so many people struggle with this mask when given the wrong size. If people measure on the border it's always best to go with the smaller size. Kath

Love this mask....😁
It is comfortable to wear. There is a little bit of rasping but it is easy to adjust. I have tried a number of face masks and this one I would recommend

Amara Face Mask
Saturday, 2 September 2017  |

It is a very comfortable face mask and it works perfectly. I was given a nasal mask by the NHS but my nose gets blocked very easily ad this is the solution. Thank you.

Minimum Contact mask
Tuesday, 8 August 2017  |

This mask is very good due to its smaller size if you are a restless sleeper like me.
The mask lifts up onto your nose and, providing that the skirt is inflated, actually works well. Its a bit of a bugger to adjust - start with the over the top of the head strap so that the mask seals well to the underside of your nose and then work downwards adjusting the two straps on each side of the mask.
Just remember that the skirt around the mask must have air in it and not to pull backwards on the four side straps too much as that stops the skirt inflating and makes it useless.

Having tried so many masks from Papworth as a last resort I bought this mask. I tried it over four nights,, even purchased the liners for it. I found that the seal flapped about and leaking. I tightened up the straps but it still leaked and irritated my face. I tried the liners but my face came up and it still leaked. As suggested by Kath I am going to watch the video for the mask and try again
The good news is that I loved the way it left the bridge of my nose free. I will let you know how I get on after seeing the video.

I've just bought this mask and like it, I swap from this to the FitLife. It fits well in the SoClean machine, and I was lucky as could actually visit Kath at the Hope2Sleep shop and try different masks and sizes, with no obligation.

Full face alternative
Wednesday, 10 May 2017  |

I used a resmed full face which covers your entire nose, this mask sits under your nose so it's less intrusive but it does push against the nostrils meaning them a little sore but it is more comfortable and I am sleeping better

Excellent CPAP mask
Tuesday, 28 March 2017  |

This mask is excellent for those who breathe through both nose and mouth at night, and it seems that other brands do not make this type of mask. It is lightweight and leaves no marks on the face whatsoever. The cushion is very smooth and can easily be removed and cleaned every night before use, and it can also be replaced independently if needed after six months or so. I am very satisfied with this mask, and its worth mentioning the excellent service by Hope2sleep!

What pleasure to use
Thursday, 23 February 2017  |

This in my opinion is about as good as you can get it! Fits a treat - size small for me + it's comfy light and you can wear your specs. To me it's worth every penny - it won't suit all as nothing will. I talk in my sleep a lot and find this mask copes with that which other masks haven't faired well with at all. And one last thing to say is Kath went out of her way to make sure I chose the right size and allowed a test run at Hope2Sleep to confirm all was well. So a big thank you for helping make my nights a little better!
