This Powapacs 60W Solar Panel is a great way of charging the ATOM Battery Pack and other batteries when off-grid or when electricity is not available.

It is worth knowing that peope who have a Paypal account  can apply for Paypal Credit for purchases over £99.00 to spread the payments over 4 months with no added interest (0%).  The agreement is via yourself and Paypal who will pay our charity the full amount upon purchase, and more details can be found here https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/paypal-virtual-credit

This 60W Solar Panel is lightweight, foldable and ideal for charging the Powapacs' ATOM Battery Pack (available separately) during the day from the sun, so that the CPAP machine or non-invasive ventilator can be used at night time via the ATOM.

Additionally, other devices such as mobile phones, netbooks, tablets, GPS etc., are also able to be powered by the solar panel with an appropriate connector.  It is also possible to charge both the ATOM and another device as there is both a USB and a DC connector fitted to the solar panel.  However, do bear in mind that charging efficiency can vary due to available sunlight.

The Solar Panel is made from highly durable fabric and can withstand water splashes from any direction up to 5 minutes.  The useful metal eyelets allow the solar panel to be attached to backpacks, tents, bike panniers and more for easy charging.

The high efficiency monocrystalline cells from sun power produce 25-35% more power compared to conventional cells - meaning your devices never need to be without power!

SunPower solar cells are, with the efficiency of more than 23.5%, one of the most efficient solar cells which are available at this time. With the power of 60W, this Powapac Solar Panel can generate 150-230Wh of energy daily.  This energy can be used for charging smartphones (on average about 10-15 times), tablets, iPads, USB cameras, USB lamps and other devices that feature USB connection.

In addition to the USB output, the Powapacs Solar Panels also have an 18V DC output.  This output is especially suitable for charging the ATOM and other powerbanks. With the combination of a Powapacs solar panel and ATOM Power Bank, you have a versatile, handy and portable off grid system to keep you powered wherever you go.

To use the solar panel and the generated energy as efficiently as possible, connect ATOM or other power bank, in which the energy can be stored. This will allow you to charge your devices at any time (including in the rain or at night) via the ATOM power pack and you are no longer dependent on the sun.  In very good weather conditions for example, a laptop could even be connected directly to the Powapacs' Solar Panel.

Directions for Use:-

  • Fully unfold the panel and position directly facing the sun - 45 degrees is usually the best angle.

  • Plug your ATOM or other device into the DC port and/or USB in the solar panel.  The solar panel's charge controller LED will light solidly when the solar panel is generating power.

  • Readjust the solar panel's position every couple of hours to follow the sun.

  • Keep the solar panel clean and out of shadows.

  • You can use the included eyelets for hanging or securing the panel during charging.

Tips from PowaPacs:-

  • When using a solar panel, don't forget that even the shadow of a thin wire can make a difference to the power output.  Make sure as many cells as possible are in full sun.

  • Solar panels will work behind glass, but with limitations.  They are designed for direct sunlight, so if you put a panel behind glass or a plastic window its efficiency will be reduced.  It may take up to three times as long to provide the same charge to a battery if you put the panel behind a window, even if it's in full sun.

  • If you invest in a solar panel, make sure it's positioned to take advantage of the midday sun, which is the strongest.  This is almost directly overhead in summer, but lower in the southern part of the sky at other times of the year.  Angling your panel towards the sun will increase the energy it generates outside of the summer months.

  • The power you generate from your solar panel will only be as good as the condition of your ATOM battery, which is why it's important to carefully look after your battery.

  • The power generated by a solar panel is direct current (DC), so if you want to use it to power something that would normally plug into a home-style three-pin 230V socket you will need to use the ATOM that's equipped with an inverter.

  • A solar panel can be ideal for keeping your battery topped up during winter storage, especially if you have a caravan or motorhome with a battery-powered alarm system.  To take account of the low light levels in winter you may need a 20W panel or more.

ORDERS

Shipping

We try our best to ship all orders received by us Monday-Friday on the same working day if received before 12 noon, and more often than not orders processed before 3pm will be despatched the same day whenever possible.  Weekend or UK bank holiday orders are sent out the next working day.  An automated email is sent when products have been despatched so please check your spam box and add us to your safe senders list.  Also, if you do not receive an email confirmation, please check that you have typed the correct email address in your account.

All orders are sent via 1st class mail within the UK.  Masks and some other more expensive products are always sent via 'signed for' insured delivery and cannot be left in 'safe' places, but there is the option for an alternative shipping address when processing the orders.

Delivery charges are worked out automatically by weight and you can clearly see the delivery charges before making a payment.  On the rare occasion delivery charges are miscalculated by the website, a refund will be sent, as it is not our policy to make money on postage charges and neither do we add the cost of delivery into the price and offer so-called  'free delivery' like some sites and Ebay pressurise sellers to do!

Wherever possible with larger parcels, we try to re-use boxes to keep shipping costs down and protect the environment.

If a product is out of stock and the order contains multiple items, the 'in stock' items will be sent immediately and further items will follow upon arrival with no further postage charges incurred.

Important for International Orders

We can ship most products internationally, but all prices are in UK British Pounds and if paying by debit or credit card the bank will automatically convert to the current conversation rate.  Likewise, if you choose the Paypal option, they will convert into your currency for you as payment is made.

International orders are sent via tracked Airmail, and whilst we're happy to ship internationally, we cannot be held responsible for any delays at Customs at your end, or charges that may be added in your own country, such as customs fees and import tax on delivery, which are determined by your country’s import laws and are beyond our control. Therefore, it is the customer’s responsibility to pay these charges, and certain courier companies will not be able to deliver the goods to you without pre-payment of any charges. From our experience, it appears to be randomised as to which parcels incur extra charges, but please know that all accompanying paperwork is filled in correctly when shipping and there is nothing more we can do, as much as we'd like to.

If you purchase from us out of the UK or you move to another country after purchasing products, please be aware that the warranty for CPAP machines, masks and parts from the manufacturers are under warranty  with the manufacturer based in the UK, so you will be responsible for sending the product back to us and will need to pay postage to get the product back to you after exchange or repair, as the manufacturer will not pay for shipping in any country outside of the UK.

RETURNS

Masks, CPAP machines and and most other products are exempt from a refund or exchange unless faulty due to health and hygiene issues - as stated in our 'Terms and Conditions', and in particular due to the risk of cross contamination as they cannot be re-sold. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 28.(3)(a) confirms exemption as follows:-  "exemption in the case of a contract for the supply of sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, if they become unsealed after delivery."

Unopened (sealed) products in their original packing can be returned within 14 days for a refund of the product cost, but the purchaser is to pay the return postage, and we would advise retaining proof of postage. This excludes any faulty goods, for which postage will be reimbursed.  A full refund for the price of the product will be issued when received by us, less the original postage charges when the order was sent to you.
