Philips Respironics

PLEASE NOTE - The DreamStation Go will be back for sale as soon as Philips are in a position to supply them with the new safe foam due to the recall.

We are pleased to now supply the DreamStation Go Travel CPAP Auto (APAP) Machine which is a truly remarkable and robust small machine, and whilst all travel machines are a little noisier than full sized machines due to their size, there are some people that are using this one even at home as it offers all the features of the DreamStation full sized CPAP machine with easy to view data on both the touch screen and via the Dream Mapper phone app. There is even a usb to charge a mobile phone.

PLEASE NOTE - The DreamStation Go will be back for sale as soon as Philips are in a position to supply them with the new safe foam due to the recall.

Philips Respironics' addition  of the DreamStation Go Auto CPAP (APAP) to the 'Dream' family is a welcome member for those wishing to own a quality travel CPAP machine, which has almost all the features of it's big brother, the DreamStation, yet is half the size.  Still, because this little machine is so robust there are some people choosing this for full time use.   As with all travel sized machines the noise is a little louder than the full sized ones, but it's certainly not what you'd actually cause noisy, at under 30 decibels!

Hope2Sleep's Observations:-

  • Love the way that whilst on our travels there's a usb on-board to charge a mobile phone.

  • Being half the size of the larger popular DreamStation machine, it's much easier for travel.

  • Has the convenience of an optional battery that attaches to the DreamStation Go machine itself and is FAA approved for taking on planes (with the required permission of course which is standard practise when travelling with any battery).

  • The built-in bluetooth makes it easy to upload the compliance and efficacy data to the Dream Mapper app on our phones.  An SD card can also be used to download the data onto a computer, but the touchscreen on the DreamStation Go also gives quick access to the data, along with easy access to other features.

  • 6 ft micro tubing is supplied with the DreamStation Go with a width of just 12 mm to further cut down on bulkiness.  However, the standard tubing will still fit the machine if preferred and there are settings within the machine that can be adjusted if a different sized hose is preferred.

  • Philips Respironics have even introduced an optional integrated humidifier which can be purchased for those people who cannot bear CPAP without humidification.  Furthermore, it is advertised that normal tap or bottled water can be used with it as this advanced humidifier technology can handle any minerals or impurities in the water.  Distilled water can, of course, still be used.

  • Unlike some travel machines, any mask can be used with the DreamStation Go, even if your favourite mask isn't manufactured by Philips Respironics.

  • Whilst the DreamStation Go is marketed as an Auto CPAP (APAP), for people who get better therapy on fixed CPAP pressures, the machine can be run in CPAP mode.

  • Flex pressure relief hasn't been cut back on with this travel sized machine, so that comfort isn't forfeited for people who need decreased CPAP pressures for exhalation.

  • The only drawbacks we can find at the moment is that the DreamStation Go doesn't include a carry bag, but this is because there are 2 different sizes to choose from - a smaller bag for those that require only the travel machine and the medium one for people wanting to also transport the battery or the humidifier.

Optional DreamStation Go Travel Cases

  • Please also note the battery and the integrated humidifier cannot be attached to the machine at the same time, although there's always some compromise when travelling light as we can't have everything!  However, the Atom battery will power the DreamStation Go via the 3-pin plug for people wanting to use both.   Do bear in mind thought that using a humidifier with a battery will cut down the hours of usage so most people opt for no humidification when using a battery to power their machines.

  • In summing up, this is truly an excellent choice for those wanting to travel lighter, but also has all the optional features for people who wish to travel off-grid and for the campers out there.

Flawed machine

It's OK. But the humidifier won't power the Respironics heated tube. And the Battery won't power the humidifier, or the heated tube tube. And it won't use the proper 18v Dreamstation battery unit either - this works directly off the mains. It all seems a bit of a Friday afternoon job. Better looking - I'll give them that. And the humidifier is a bit spurty if the hose isn't on. You're probably better just taking the proper unit - battery, humidifier and heated tube - it isn't that much bigger. Mind you, it'll slide under my bed on a steel tray, and I like my bedroom looking less like intensive care.

DreamStation Go- Review after a years use.
This little APAP machine has been excellent. It worked well at altitude (including above the tested 7,500 feet), is robust and didn't feel like a compromise over a full size machine. It works equally well in a plush hotel room as it does in more challenging conditions where pack space is limited, the roads are rough (or non existent) and with the battery packs when there is no electricity. The USB port is very useful when there's not enough sockets (or you're camping etc) for charging a phone.
It felt like and expensive outlay for a travel item but now a year later it was money well spent owing to how durable and useful it has been. It's allowed me the freedom to do things which I couldn’t have otherwise done, like travel to places with intermittent or no electricity, stay at very high altitude and go camping where there was no electricity available without having to compromise my health or end up far too tired to enjoy the experience.
I also purchased both the large and small hard carry cases, two battery packs and the extra long lead which you might want to read the reviews for if you're interested in travel details.
As ever Hope2Sleep's help and advice has been invaluable, the efforts made to help me find answers to any problems have been excellent so I have no hesitation in recommending you buy your gear from them, their prices are good too!

Great help for travelling!
06 May 2019  |

I’d been waiting eagerly for a year or so for this travel CPAP to be available in the UK, as I hated lugging the bulky Airsense10 around, and did not want a Resmed Airmini as it is only compatible with certain masks. (The Go will use any mask). My first impression of the Go was that it was a bit heavier than expected but it doesn’t have a ‘brick’ on the power supply which is a big plus . It’s small & neat of course (about 6” sq) & in its protective case fits easily into a bag to go under an airline seat. The very light tubing, lead & mask fit in a separate light bag. Most importantly it does the job - maybe a little noisier than the full size machines but I got used to it the first night. It’s smart & unobtrusive when you’re sharing rooms or in someone’s house, and the lead and tubing are the usual lengths for ease of use. The USB port is a plus too. I love it! The only drawback is the price. For me it was a worth it and I was glad to be able to buy it through Hope2sleep. Let’s hope these travel machines will come down in price eventually.

So glad you were pleased with your DreamStation Go Carole. We love it here at the charity as it's such a robust little machine and capable of being used at home as well as away - and with all the features of the larger machines.

ORDERS

Shipping

We try our best to ship all orders received by us Monday-Friday on the same working day if received before 12 noon, and more often than not orders processed before 3pm will be despatched the same day whenever possible.  Weekend or UK bank holiday orders are sent out the next working day.  An automated email is sent when products have been despatched so please check your spam box and add us to your safe senders list.  Also, if you do not receive an email confirmation, please check that you have typed the correct email address in your account.

All orders are sent via 1st class mail within the UK.  Masks and some other more expensive products are always sent via 'signed for' insured delivery and cannot be left in 'safe' places, but there is the option for an alternative shipping address when processing the orders.

Delivery charges are worked out automatically by weight and you can clearly see the delivery charges before making a payment.  On the rare occasion delivery charges are miscalculated by the website, a refund will be sent, as it is not our policy to make money on postage charges and neither do we add the cost of delivery into the price and offer so-called  'free delivery' like some sites and Ebay pressurise sellers to do!

Wherever possible with larger parcels, we try to re-use boxes to keep shipping costs down and protect the environment.

If a product is out of stock and the order contains multiple items, the 'in stock' items will be sent immediately and further items will follow upon arrival with no further postage charges incurred.

Important for International Orders

We can ship most products internationally, but all prices are in UK British Pounds and if paying by debit or credit card the bank will automatically convert to the current conversation rate.  Likewise, if you choose the Paypal option, they will convert into your currency for you as payment is made.

International orders are sent via tracked Airmail, and whilst we're happy to ship internationally, we cannot be held responsible for any delays at Customs at your end, or charges that may be added in your own country, such as customs fees and import tax on delivery, which are determined by your country’s import laws and are beyond our control. Therefore, it is the customer’s responsibility to pay these charges, and certain courier companies will not be able to deliver the goods to you without pre-payment of any charges. From our experience, it appears to be randomised as to which parcels incur extra charges, but please know that all accompanying paperwork is filled in correctly when shipping and there is nothing more we can do, as much as we'd like to.

If you purchase from us out of the UK or you move to another country after purchasing products, please be aware that the warranty for CPAP machines, masks and parts from the manufacturers are under warranty  with the manufacturer based in the UK, so you will be responsible for sending the product back to us and will need to pay postage to get the product back to you after exchange or repair, as the manufacturer will not pay for shipping in any country outside of the UK.

RETURNS

Masks, CPAP machines and and most other products are exempt from a refund or exchange unless faulty due to health and hygiene issues - as stated in our 'Terms and Conditions', and in particular due to the risk of cross contamination as they cannot be re-sold. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 28.(3)(a) confirms exemption as follows:-  "exemption in the case of a contract for the supply of sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, if they become unsealed after delivery."

Unopened (sealed) products in their original packing can be returned within 14 days for a refund of the product cost, but the purchaser is to pay the return postage, and we would advise retaining proof of postage. This excludes any faulty goods, for which postage will be reimbursed.  A full refund for the price of the product will be issued when received by us, less the original postage charges when the order was sent to you.
