Due to the softcaps being discontinued by Philips Respironics, and due to the amount of disappointment for the softcaps we are trying to get back something similar in the future, so have discontinued the product for now.  To be sure you don't miss news about this you're advised to subscribe to our newsletters Newsletter Subscription.

The Softcap Lycra Headgear is designed for use with nasal and full face CPAP masks.  It comes with a Single Quick Clip for ease of use and quick removal.

Whilst they have been manufactured specifically for Respironics' masks, they have been successfully used with other manufacturers' masks, but are designed for 1 inch wide mask straps, so for any larger than this, the straps would need to be folded over (lengthways) to force the straps through, but many customers have managed this with masks made by Resmed, Fisher & Paykel + Devilbiss etc.

The SoftCaps come in 3 sizes:-

  • Child (currently white lycra)
  • Medium Adults (currently blue mesh)
  • Large (currently white lycra)

There doesn't appear to be official available sizing guides for these, so to help we have estimated the following:-

  • Child:             (Definitely not for adults).
  • Medium:       Adults Head Circumference* up to 22.5 inches.
  • Large:            Adults Head Circumference* over 23 inches.

*To measure your head, use a flexible tape measure around the back of the head and across the temple as below:-

This will not work with the new Respironics' Amara View mask, but does work with the original Amara Gel + Silicone masks.  If you are unsure of suitability with your mask, please contact us for advice.

Need to find these somewhere

We have been using the same medium Respironics Cpap Soft Cap headgear for two years. I can't find any anywhere. It worked so well for my daughter. It slipped over her hair so easily. Any substitutions that anyone has found? Thanks!

We're working hard to get a suitable replacement since Philips stopped the manufacture of the softcaps which were helping so many people.

I ordered this to go with the full face Fitlife mask as it was recommended as being good in feedback. I was very disappointed to find that the picture showing the cap is nothing like the cap itself. I ordered a medium and it fits only from the crown of your head down to your ears not per the full head picture. When I wore it with the full face mask the bottom straps cut across my ears which was painful. Again this was an expensive lesson & I will try to sell this cap to recoup my losses

This is such a shame Ann, and even more so because you bought the last softcap we had and Philips have now stopped manufacture of them, yet there are people crying out for the softcaps. Sadly not everything works for us all.

More Comfort and less Marks

I find this comfortable to wear and you don't get the indentations on your hair from straps. It also reduces strap marks on face a bit

this product is really comfortable and secure and its much better fitting than the straps provided by the mask makers. Its just a bit expensive but overall a great buy

I love the absolute softness of this cap. I had to make the straps fit my strap grips and had to superglue the ends of the velcro as it came off, but that's my fault as I had to really tug it through the green grips. Another thing I had to do was sew on a piece of soft thick felt at the back of the neck, because it was quite scratchy. But now all is sorted it is a dream to wear.

My Son has been using this head cap for close to 5 years now. It's the only cap he uses. Since being told you are discontinuing this cap, we have tried so many others.. to no avail. Without an alternative you are causing a huge problem for us.. as it's the only headgear that supports his fitlife full face mask.. please reconsider.

Diane, it's not our decision to stop providing this softcap - it's because Philips Respironics have stopped making it, which was a huge disappointment to many of us - me included! We are doing all we can to try to get this big issue sorted.

Comfort at a great price

I can't believe I've found this bargain to now being told it's going to be discontinued it's so comfy and makes wearing the mask so much easier and nicer. Fingers crossed the company decides to change their mind and continues to make them. Thank you

Whilst this is brilliant news Diane and we're investigating how we can help with this problem of Respironics ceasing production. Fingers crossed we can come up with a solution 🤞🤞

Soft cap headgear

I purchased this headgear hoping it would be easier to wear than just the straps with my nasal mask. It was a little tricky to set up you need some manual dexterity to get the straps through the clips but I managed to fold the straps in half and feed them through. Iím not constantly rearranging the head straps overnight anymore as once this is on it stays put as I had hoped. Since I started using it my mask leakage has reduced considerably and I had my first night of 0.7 AHI in over two years of usage. Iím really pleased with this purchase .

That's great to hear Margaret. It does need some tweaking of getting the straps through on several masks due to it being manufactured by Philips Respironics, but worth the effort when you've got such good results from using it 😊

Very expensive for what they are, I measured my head as per instructions to the letter which put me in the medium size range, but on it seemed a little small had it been a little bigger would have been more comfortable and work better.

We try our best to ship all orders received by us Monday-Friday on the same working day if received before 12 noon, and more often than not orders processed before 3pm will be despatched the same day whenever possible.  Weekend or UK bank holiday orders are sent out the next working day.  An automated email is sent when products have been despatched so please check your spam box and add us to your safe senders list.  Also, if you do not receive an email confirmation, please check that you have typed the correct email address in your account.

All orders are sent via 1st class mail within the UK.  Masks and some other more expensive products are always sent via 'signed for' insured delivery and cannot be left in 'safe' places, but there is the option for an alternative shipping address when processing the orders. 

Delivery charges are worked out automatically by weight and you can clearly see the delivery charges before making a payment.  On the rare occasion delivery charges are miscalculated by the website, a refund will be sent, as it is not our policy to make money on postage charges and neither do we add the cost of delivery into the price and offer so-called  'free delivery' like some sites and Ebay pressurise sellers to do! 

Wherever possible with larger parcels, we try to re-use boxes to keep shipping costs down and protect the environment.

If a product is out of stock and the order contains multiple items, the 'in stock' items will be sent immediately and further items will follow upon arrival with no further postage charges incurred.  

Important for International Orders

We can ship most products internationally, but all prices are in UK British Pounds and if paying by debit or credit card the bank will automatically convert to the current conversation rate.  Likewise, if you choose the Paypal option, they will convert into your currency for you as payment is made.  

International orders are sent via tracked Airmail, and whilst we're happy to ship internationally, we cannot be held responsible for any delays at Customs at your end, or charges that may be added in your own country, such as customs fees and import tax on delivery, which are determined by your country’s import laws and are beyond our control. Therefore, it is the customer’s responsibility to pay these charges, and certain courier companies will not be able to deliver the goods to you without pre-payment of any charges. From our experience, it appears to be randomised as to which parcels incur extra charges, but please know that all accompanying paperwork is filled in correctly when shipping and there is nothing more we can do, as much as we'd like to.

If you purchase from us out of the UK or you move to another country after purchasing products, please be aware that the warranty for CPAP machines, masks and parts from the manufacturers are under warranty  with the manufacturer based in the UK, so you will be responsible for sending the product back to us and will need to pay postage to get the product back to you after exchange or repair, as the manufacturer will not pay for shipping in any country outside of the UK.


Masks, CPAP machines and and most other products are exempt from a refund or exchange unless faulty due to health and hygiene issues - as stated in our 'Terms and Conditions', and in particular due to the risk of cross contamination as they cannot be re-sold. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 28.(3)(a) confirms exemption as follows:-  "exemption in the case of a contract for the supply of sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, if they become unsealed after delivery."

Unopened (sealed) products in their original packing can be returned within 14 days for a refund of the product cost, but the purchaser is to pay the return postage, and we would advise retaining proof of postage. This excludes any faulty goods, for which postage will be reimbursed.  A full refund for the price of the product will be issued when received by us, less the original postage charges when the order was sent to you.



Most of the products we sell are eligible for Zero Rated VAT in the UK, and in order to qualify, you should meet the criteria for the following HMRC VAT Declaration:-

  1. You or the person you are purchasing on behalf of have "a condition which the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness," (sleep apnoea and sleep disordered breathing, which require therapy, are such conditions).
  2. "The goods or services are for the personal or domestic use of the customer."

If you are not eligible for Zero Rated VAT then please make sure that the VAT Relief box in unticked so that VAT is applied to the order.

If you are purchasing on behalf of someone else who meets the above criteria, you must provide their name and address, and you will be prompted of this during the checkout process.

Customers living outside of the UK do not pay UK VAT charges, so please leave the the VAT Relief box ticked.  However, we cannot be held responsible for any additional costs incurred when the products reach your own country.

If you are purchasing with the intention of re-selling any products, you are liable to pay VAT on all products so you must untick the 'zero rate eligibility' box which will add VAT to your order.

Any products that our not eligible for zero rate VAT, will not display the VAT Declaration, and VAT will be added at checkout.
