Part Number: 1001626Brand: Philips Respironics
Unfortunately, Philips Respironics have now stopped manufacturing these popular Softcaps and we have a limited supply. We will continue to source these whenever we can until it's no longer possible. We are aware that this will be a disappointment to many people who get great comfort from the Softcaps and we are investigating other solutions. Any outcome will be announced in our newsletters, so if you wish to subscribe to these you are welcome to by clicking on this link Newsletter Subscription.
The Softcap Lycra Headgear is designed for use with nasal and full face CPAP masks. It comes with a Single Quick Clip for ease of use and quick removal.
Whilst they have been manufactured specifically for Respironics' masks, they have been successfully used with other manufacturers' masks, but are designed for 1 inch wide mask straps, so for any larger than this, the straps would need to be folded over (lengthways) to force the straps through, but many customers have managed this with masks made by Resmed, Fisher & Paykel + Devilbiss etc.
The SoftCaps come in 3 sizes:-
There doesn't appear to be official available sizing guides for these, so to help we have estimated the following:-
*To measure your head, use a flexible tape measure around the back of the head and across the temple as below:-
This will not work with the new Respironics' Amara View mask, but does work with the original Amara Gel + Silicone masks. If you are unsure of suitability with your mask, please contact us for advice.
My Son has been using this head cap for close to 5 years now. It's the only cap he uses. Since being told you are discontinuing this cap, we have tried so many others.. to no avail. Without an alternative you are causing a huge problem for us.. as it's the only headgear that supports his fitlife full face mask.. please reconsider.

Diane, it's not our decision to stop providing this softcap - it's because Philips Respironics have stopped making it, which was a huge disappointment to many of us - me included! We are doing all we can to try to get this big issue sorted.
I can't believe I've found this bargain to now being told it's going to be discontinued it's so comfy and makes wearing the mask so much easier and nicer. Fingers crossed the company decides to change their mind and continues to make them. Thank you
Whilst this is brilliant news Diane and we're investigating how we can help with this problem of Respironics ceasing production. Fingers crossed we can come up with a solution 🤞🤞
I purchased this headgear hoping it would be easier to wear than just the straps with my nasal mask. It was a little tricky to set up you need some manual dexterity to get the straps through the clips but I managed to fold the straps in half and feed them through. Iím not constantly rearranging the head straps overnight anymore as once this is on it stays put as I had hoped. Since I started using it my mask leakage has reduced considerably and I had my first night of 0.7 AHI in over two years of usage. Iím really pleased with this purchase .

That's great to hear Margaret. It does need some tweaking of getting the straps through on several masks due to it being manufactured by Philips Respironics, but worth the effort when you've got such good results from using it 😊
My wife uses this item and says it is a tremendous difference to the comfort of the face mask.
Thanks for taking the time to review this on behalf of your wife. Glad she's finding comfort too!
Very expensive for what they are, I measured my head as per instructions to the letter which put me in the medium size range, but on it seemed a little small had it been a little bigger would have been more comfortable and work better.
Sorry to hear this. Did you measure your head in the exact place as recommended on the website as we've not heard of this problem before?
I wish I had known about the soft cap a long time ago. It has made a huge difference. I have problems with my cervical vertebrae and my straps were a contributing factor. The soft cap doesn't cause any pressure on my neck or, for that matter, on my face. I have a Resmed Quattro full face mask and the soft cap straps attach easily to the clips without the need to trim. It is very comfortable to wear and dries quickly when washed.

straps to wide had to cut to fit.it work
Glad it works and yes the straps are wide for some of the masks by other manufacturers. Be careful about cutting them though as they can fray. It's usually better to fold them to push them through the buckles.
This is comfortable, and surprisingly cool. The only downside is the straps do leave marks on your cheeks, even at the loosest settings. I now need to find pads for the straps! Ho hum,
I have sleep apnea, and wake up most mornings, with a headache, this is because I cannot cope with straps or anything on my head and suffer with migraines. So I thought I would try this soft cap as I had to wear the mask regardless. I was really surprised - no pressure and woke without my usual headache wow, but as my husband quickly pointed out my hair wasn't stuck to my head, and he joked I didn't look so scary lol. I would be happy to recommend this instead of thick straps, we all go through hell to find comfort, but i am delighted with it and will stick with this now And lastly without being cheesy, thank you Kath, your advice, time, and support to your customers is first class, regards

Firstly I have to say the guidance and advice I have received from Hope2Sleep has been exceptional. Kath suggested the soft cap as I had tried several masks supplied by other companies and was suffering from the mask moving around too much whilst sleeping and waking up finding I had taken it off or excessive leaking. My experience has been fantastic. The fit of my mask is much better, more secure without sacrificing comfort. In fact it is far more comfortable because you have no strapping around the back of your head. The cap itself almost feels like it is not there and there is no additional heat from wearing it. It really has transformed my sleep at a time when I was ready to throw the towel in. If you have real problems with a mask then you may find that this head gear makes all the difference. I have used it on a Respironics Easy Life and a Resmed Activa LT. The straps are a little too wide for the mask apertures but they are soft and will slide through. For the price I would say you have little to lose. It is a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a new mask and you may find you fall back in love with a mask you already have. It is comfortable, secures the mask better, deletes the problem of straps moving around while you sleep. My leak rate has come down from 30+ to under 25 and my AHI has lowered again as well as pressure. When I measured my forehead it was 23.5 inches and I bought a large which still had additional adjustment left. Great product which has greatly improved my experience with CPAP after 6 months of hell.

We try our best to ship all orders received by us Monday-Friday on the same working day if received before 12 noon, and more often than not orders processed before 3 pm will be despatched the same day whenever possible. Weekend or UK bank holiday orders are sent out the next working day. An automated email is sent when products have been despatched so please check your spam box and add us to your safe senders list. Also, if you do not receive an email confirmation, please check that you have typed the correct email address in your account.
All orders are sent via 1st class mail within the UK. Masks and some other more expensive products are always sent via 'signed for' insured delivery and cannot be left in 'safe' places, but there is the option for an alternative shipping address when processing the orders. International orders are sent via tracked Airmail, and whilst we're happy to ship internationally, we cannot be held responsible for any charges that may be added in your own country.
Delivery charges are worked out automatically by weight and you can clearly see the delivery charges before purchase. On the rare occasion delivery charges are miscalculated by the website, a refund will be sent, as it is not our policy to make money on postage charges and neither do we add the cost of delivery into the price and offer so-called 'free delivery' like some sites and Ebay pressurise sellers to do!
Wherever possible with larger parcels, we try to re-use boxes to keep shipping costs down and protect the environment.
If a product is out of stock and the order contains multiple items, the 'in stock' items will be sent immediately and further items will follow upon arrival with no further postage charges incurred.
Masks and most products cannot be exchanged, unless faulty, due to health and hygiene issues, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations, (as stated in our 'Terms and Conditions' ) and where you will find our return address, so if you are unsure about any product please contact us BEFORE purchase or BEFORE opening a sealed packet.
Unopened (sealed) products in their original packing can be returned within 14 days for a refund of the product cost, but the purchaser is to pay the return postage, and we would advise retaining proof of postage. This excludes any faulty goods, for which postage will be reimbursed. A full refund for the price of the product will be issued when received by us, less the original postage charges when the order was sent to you.
