Philips Respironics

This Amara View minimalistic full face enables mask users to wear reading glasses, and there are NO nasal pillows requiring insertion into the nostrils, as there is an opening for the base of the nose to sit into, with this under-the-nose design. Nasal bridge sores really will be a thing of the past with this mask!

This  Amara View Mask really is proving to have high success rates amongst patients, which is indeed a good sign as getting the 'right' mask is a very individual selection process, and it is much harder to get a minimal contact mask for mouth breathers.  Philips Respironics have now upgraded the mask to include magnetic clips, which whilst a good feature, people with a pacemaker or cochlear implants will need to confirm if the magnetic clips are suitable.

Hope2Sleep's Observations:-

  • Completely won over by the way the base of the nose goes into the nostril hole on the mask, and the edges of the hole create the good seal by clinging to the nose.
  • Amara 'View' is certainly a good name for this mask due to being able to wear reading glasses and for the way it offers a wide field of vision!
  • Very lightweight mask overall, compared to many other full face masks.
  • Very soft silicone cushion.
  • Marvellous to have no nasal bridge discomfort or sores, and no part of the mask causing pressure underneath the eyes.
  • Now available with magnetic clips.
  • The quick release small tube means people can detach the mask from this for bathroom visits, without having to take off the full mask.
  • Easy to clean and re-assemble.
  • All mask cushions (small, medium and large) fit the same frame, and it would be rare to have to purchase a whole new mask, as most parts can be bought separately, as and when required.

Philips Respironics says:-

Enjoy the view - the widest field of vision of all leading full face masks! An idea whose time has come.......

The Amara View’s incredible under-the-nose design makes it the only full face mask that won’t cause red marks on the bridge of your nose when compared to the market leaders. Amara View is also the smallest, lightest and has the widest field of vision of all leading full face masks. It’s easy to wear glasses, read, watch TV, and use a computer or tablet.

  • Innovative design prevents red marks, discomfort or irritation on the nose bridge.
  • The smallest and lightest of all leading full face masks.
  • Widest field of vision of all leading full face masks.
  • Enables wearing glasses, reading, and watching TV.
  • Easy to use with one modular frame for all cushion sizes.
  • No bulky cushion and frame in front of your face and eyes.
  • Magnetic clips make attaching or re-attaching headgear before bed or in the middle of the night easy and fast.

Unlike most full face masks, Amara View’s cushion size is determined by measuring the depth of the nose using the simple sizing gauge. Amara View covers less of a patient’s face than all leading full face masks. (An observation noted is that when people appear to be on the borderline of 2 sizes, selecting the smaller size seems to work better).

The Amara View comes in sizes Small, Medium or Large, and there is now also the addition of the Fitpack option which contains all 3 cushion sizes (this is highly recommended if purchasing the mask for the first time in order that the correct cushion size can be selected).  The standard headgear and small mask mini tubing is included in all packs, and additional extras can be bought of the following:-

  • Headgear (in standard or large)
  • Mask Cushions (all sizes can be used with the frame)
  • Headgear Magnetic Clips
  • Short Tube

Important Information

Due to the magnetic clips on this mask, it is important that these should remain at least 2 inches (50 mm) away from any device such as pacemakers, cochlear implants, defibrillators or any other active medical device.  If you have any doubts please speak with your medical consultant before using.

Please note the following helpful videos do not show the updated magnetic clips for the Amara View Mask.  However, everything else remains the same.

Best so far

I had a Amara View. I tried the Dreamwear which was comfortable but noisy. Tried the Joyce, quite good but long mouth tube was easy to break sealing by hand pillow etc. Just bought a replacement Amara View. It's been upgraded, feels good but time will tell.

It's so hard for some patients finding the 'right' mask and glad the Amara View is helping until you do. Look out for the new Fisher & Paykel Evora Full Face which we're looking forward to trying ourselves when it arrives in the UK 🤞

Best for me
Tuesday, 25 January 2022  |

I bought this mask as I am a mouth breather. My previous mask used to sit on the bridge of my nose, and no matter how much I adjusted it I still felt it digging in. I was hoping this mask would be better and it is! I do get air coming out the front (it is supposed to so not a fault) I found the smaller mask cushion fits perfectly though I now have a medium and large that I donít want, but I had to make sure of the fit. This is perfect and now my nose is fine. Iím glad I bought it myself but what to do with the 2 I donít want? Any ideas?

So pleased to hear the Amara View is working for you and with it being a new mask to you it's certainly safer to purchase the Fitpack version the first time, but in future you can now just buy a small replacement cushion or the mask in a size small.
You can put the unused cushions on our forum in the buy/sell/swap section or if you're in our private group could do a shout out for a swap with other people. If you'd like to you can also send them to the charity where we can put them in our donation section to help others, or if your hospital use this mask you could even offer them there.

Struggling with leaks
Monday, 20 December 2021  |

My first mask so nothing to compare it to. Seem to have issues with leaks - especially around the eyes. It is much smaller and unobtrusive than I expected, but Iím not sure if the sitting under the nose means it works for every face shape. Have had better results with a mask liner, but this varies. Not sure itís the mask for me but others may love it.

As someone new to CPAP, you're right that the first mask people try isn't always the 'right' one for them as we're all individual. The mask itself is very popular, but unfortunately no single mask will suit everyone. Hope you manage to find a better one, and please don't hesitate to ask for our help.

Looks good so far

I've just started using it, so far it's silent and comfortable and I would have bought two, but it was my first Amara View mask and I wanted to test it first.

Glad your initial experience with the Amara View is good, but you did right not to purchase 2 until you'd tried it as we never know until we've used the masks with our machines.

The mask for me!
Tuesday, 27 July 2021  |

After researching masks because the mask given to me by the hospital was not working for me I bought the Amara View Full Face Mask and it is a game changer.
My first mask was claustrophobic and I had perfected the art of taking it off in my sleep within an hour or so of going to sleep.
The first night I used my Amara mask I slept for 5.5 hours without interruption and it has been roughly the same each night. As I only sleep 7 hours or so this is a massive improvement! I look forward to feeing the results!

It always makes us smile when we see review titles like 'the mask for me' which is why we have so many options to help people find the 'right' mask for them which is so important, as without a good mask it affects the whole treatment.

Amara full view mask

Bought the fit set as first time user. Easy sizing using card provided. Medium is correct but can also get good fit with the Large as well. No problems with skin do get some marks first thing in morning that fade quickly. Has been a challenge getting used to CPAP during hot weather but this mask helpful as 100% fit no leaks or issues.

First time on CPAP
Thursday, 27 May 2021  |

Sizing gauge pointed to needing a medium, which fitted around nose, but not quite mouth. So bought a larger cushion and that has push down mask leak and been more comfortable.

Exhalation ports on mask blow upwards across face which tickles my eyes a bit and has me fiddling with mask each night. Donít think I used the previous nights fit once!

Overall good and go me past the dread of a full face mask.

May try the Dreamwear mask next time...

Glad things improved with the correct size cushion and why Philips now supply the fitpacks for first time users which are more expensive, but cheaper than purchasing cushions later. The DreamWear is very similar except has the hose at the top of the mask which many people prefer. They are both very good and popular masks though.

Amara View Full Face Minimal Contact Mask
Thursday, 4 March 2021  |

Whilst the mask is more comfortable and less intrusive than the Amara Gel Full Face Mask it is easily disrupted in the night on movement causing significant leak. Unfortunately, I wore this mask only a few times and have had to abandon it due to this problem

That's a shame to hear as a lot of people use the mask successfully. There can also be other things to consider such as if your bed pillow is too firm and knocking the mask out of position, if the hose is tugging on the mask that can be remedied with a Hose Lift etc. We'd encourage you to look at our page on 'Mask Problems' or contact us to discuss further in the hope of helping you 😊

So comfortable!
Wednesday, 17 February 2021  |

Best mask I have ever tried! And Iíve tried all sorts as I have high cheekbones and a thin nasal bridge. I have alway struggled with face masks leaking and found nasal mask hurt my nose but this is so comfortable. I move a lot in my sleep but this mask has not only stayed put throughout my restless nights, but it also leaves no marks on my face, as the five straps are all fully adjustable and donít need to be pulled tight to stay in place. Worth every penny! And added bonus that my eyes are not sore anymore from mask air blast. Highly recommended.

We try our best to ship all orders received by us Monday-Friday on the same working day if received before 12 noon, and more often than not orders processed before 3pm will be despatched the same day whenever possible.  Weekend or UK bank holiday orders are sent out the next working day.  An automated email is sent when products have been despatched so please check your spam box and add us to your safe senders list.  Also, if you do not receive an email confirmation, please check that you have typed the correct email address in your account.

All orders are sent via 1st class mail within the UK.  Masks and some other more expensive products are always sent via 'signed for' insured delivery and cannot be left in 'safe' places, but there is the option for an alternative shipping address when processing the orders.

Delivery charges are worked out automatically by weight and you can clearly see the delivery charges before making a payment.  On the rare occasion delivery charges are miscalculated by the website, a refund will be sent, as it is not our policy to make money on postage charges and neither do we add the cost of delivery into the price and offer so-called  'free delivery' like some sites and Ebay pressurise sellers to do!

Wherever possible with larger parcels, we try to re-use boxes to keep shipping costs down and protect the environment.

If a product is out of stock and the order contains multiple items, the 'in stock' items will be sent immediately and further items will follow upon arrival with no further postage charges incurred.

Important for International Orders

We can ship most products internationally, but all prices are in UK British Pounds and if paying by debit or credit card the bank will automatically convert to the current conversation rate.  Likewise, if you choose the Paypal option, they will convert into your currency for you as payment is made.

International orders are sent via tracked Airmail, and whilst we're happy to ship internationally, we cannot be held responsible for any charges that may be added in your own country.

If you purchase from us out of the UK or you move to another country after purchasing products, please be aware that the warranty for CPAP machines, masks and parts from the manufacturers are under warranty  with the manufacturer based in the UK, so you will be responsible for sending the product back to us and will need to pay postage to get the product back to you after exchange or repair, as the manufacturer will not pay for shipping in any country outside of the UK.

Masks, CPAP machines and and most other products are exempt from a refund or exchange unless faulty due to health and hygiene issues - as stated in our 'Terms and Conditions', and in particular due to the risk of cross contamination as they cannot be re-sold. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 28.(3)(a) confirms exemption as follows:-  "exemption in the case of a contract for the supply of sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, if they become unsealed after delivery."

Unopened (sealed) products in their original packing can be returned within 14 days for a refund of the product cost, but the purchaser is to pay the return postage, and we would advise retaining proof of postage.  This excludes any faulty goods, for which postage will be reimbursed.  A full refund for the price of the product will be issued when received by us, less the original postage charges when the order was sent to you.
