The popular DreamWear Nasal Mask for nose breathers now has the upgraded new headgear with arms which is a vast improvement to the original. This mask was the first from any manufacturer having the hose attached at the top of the head keeping the hose well out of the way, and using the mask with the Hose Lift is a perfect combination, as the hose lift take the weight of the hose and allows freedom to move from side to side without dragging on the top of the mask.
There is the option of purchasing the DreamWear with the original 'under-the-nose' cushion, the new silicone pillows and for a little while longer, the now discontinued original gel pillows. Additionally, the mask can be converted into a full face version for people who occasionally struggle to nose breathe with just the additional purchase of the full face headgear and mask cushion.
Reviews of this mask are mainly 4 and 5 Stars, which is excellent for any mask!

This DreamWear Nasal Mask is the original unique design for nose breathers, and Philips were the first company to launch a mask with the hose at the top of the head, and this was also the first mask introducing the innovative way the air is pushed directly into the mask via the tubular mask frame. Due to its success Philips then brought out the DreamWear Full Face Mask for mouth breathers which is just as popular.
The mask is welcomed by people who like to wear as minimal a mask as possible on the face. In fact Philips Respironics have described it 'like wearing nothing at all' and comments from some of the users are endorsing this statement - certainly in comparison to other masks they've used!
The upgraded headgear with arms is proving to be a positive improvement to the original headgear (alThis mask really does feel so light and almost as if nothing is on the face!
The way the nasal cushion seals in the 'under-the-nose version is a real bonus but for patients who prefer pillows inside the nose, there is also the option for those instead.
Nasal bridge sores will not be a problem with this mask!
The fact that all sizes of under-the-nose cushion or nasal pillows are included in the pack means that selecting the wrong size won't be an issue!
Amazed at the way that when lying on the side the air is simply directed through the tubular frame on the opposite side. We have also carried out testing with a CPAP Manometer, proving there is no pressure reduction when sleeping on our side.
Due to the hose connecting directly onto the mask frame at the top of the head, the hose is unobtrusive, and especially if used with the Hose Lift which angles the hose tube from above the head too and is helpful for stopping the hose dragging on the mask, thus causing leaks. (For people who don't wish to have their hose above them, it may be helpful to purchase a Hose Strap and Clip to attach the hose to their nightwear which also helps prevent the hose dragging on the mask).
Easy to clean and re-assemble.
A huge benefit for some people is that as well as swapping between the 'under-the-nose' cushion and pillows, the mask can be converted to the full face version for people who occasionally need to mouth breathe (such as when they have a cold or nasal stuffiness). The DreamWear Mask Mouth Cushion can easily be attached to the mask frame. However, the headgear is not the same on both masks, so a separate DreamWear Full Face Headgear will be needed for using it with the mouth cushion, but this will still make it cheaper than purchasing a separate mask.
"Like Wearing Nothing At All...
...and designed to provide many of the benefits of nasal and pillows masks, DreamWear allows patients to have the best of both mask types. Its remarkable design directs airflow through the frame so patients can sleep comfortably. The minimal contact, under-the-nose cushion prevents red marks, discomfort or irritation in the nostrils or on the nose bridge.
Freedom Of Movement
DreamWear users experienced more freedom of movement throughout the night than with their current prescribed mask. Unrestricted by cumbersome tubing, patients can sleep in any position they desire – on their stomach, side, or back.
Exceptional Fit And Comfort
Users stated that DreamWear was more comfortable, appealing and had a better fit than their prescribed mask. DreamWear’s soft, flexible silicone frame and fabric wraps provide a soft touch on the patient’s cheek."
Included in the separate fitpack option packs are:-
Medium Mask Frame which fits most people.
All Cushion Sizes - Small, Medium, Medium-wide and Large.
New Improved Standard Headgear with Arms.
Pair of Fabric Wraps.
All Silicone Pillows Sizes - Small, Medium and Large.
All Gel Pillows Sizes - Small, Medium and Large.
For people who need a smaller or larger frame, this is available as an optional extra.
Additional replacement Headgear, Fabric Frame Wraps and the Nasal Cushion can also be purchased separately - as can a mouth cushion when nasal breathing is difficult (converting the mask to a full face one) but the full face headgear will also be needed.
Once one of the DreamWear masks above are supplied or bought, the type of cushion (under-the-nose or nasal pillows) can be used with any of them as they simply attach to the same frame.
For smaller or larger frames these are available separately.
There are helpful videos below of both versions of the DreamWear Mask:-
I have now tried the full face mask, nose and face mask and now the nasal mask. By far the most comfortable for me is the nasal mask, its easier to fit, easy to sleep in and comfortable to wear. I've started to use the mouth strips to prevent me from mouth breathing during the night and this combination works well.

Good to hear the nasal mask verson is working well for you, as whenever possible nose breathing is healthier 😊
I’ve used the Dreamwear mask with cushions quite successfully for a while but as I suffer from a ‘dry eye’ condition I thought I would try the new silicon pillows in the hope of reducing occasional leaks etc. Success! The pillows are very comfortable, the vent seems to direct away from my eyes and doesn’t seem to be as strong, (I am always conscious of a slight ‘breeze’ upwards from the vent on my cushion ) and my dry eye is not as bad.I’ve tried a few different masks over the years and find this one with the pillows is the best of the bunch
This is great to hear Angela and believe it's the first review for the new silicone pillows, so is sounding very positive 😊
Excellent product, ordered small nose piece which came attached to medium head gear. Should have been given the option to order small head gear. Have had to pay extra for a small one which then has not come with cloth straps. Am struggling to get the new small headgear with the small nose piece.
Unfortunately Philips Respironics do not supply the small frame (which is what you mean when you say 'headgear') and even worse is the frame is very expensive 🙁 When purchasing the frame separately the fabric wraps aren't supplied (only with the mask) but if you ever need replacement frame covers please look at our mask strap covers which are much cheaper. Glad you like the mask though.
After being diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep Apnea and being told i would have to wear a mask at night i was totally floored im very claustrophic and the thought of my face being covered was so frightening but one of the Sleep Clinic nurse came out to see me bringing the machine with a nasal cushion ....it took a while to get used to it but its not restricting and so comfortable to use ..its soft and doesn't leave any marks on my face ...
Yes, it can be frightening at first, but once we start wearing the CPAP equipment and realise how much better we feel, it becomes 2nd nature. Pleased you've found the DreamWear mask suits you 😊
Disappointing, the recommended pressure in my machine make the machine very noisy, it’s probably best suited to low pressure c pap machines
Sad to hear this as many people get good success with high pressures. A good seal is needed though and often it's the mask frame rather than the cushion that's to blame. Please contact us if you feel we can help.
I am extremely satisfied with the product.I bought the mask for greater comfort.
Bought this as I thought the concept of air from CPAP travelling down the 2 side tubes from the pipe feed at the top of your head, I thought what a good idea, no getting tangled in the tube when you move about during sleep, that part is fine , but there is a squeaking noise when you move your head coming from the pipe connector which is quite annoying and my cats think there is a bird in the bedroom. The product info states that when you sleep on one side the air from the CPAP simply flows from the other side instead by not cutting of the rate of flow from the CPAP , that simply isn’t true, the air then has to be pumped twice as hard through one side tube and the air you are trying to breathe out just mixes with the air trying to be forced in , which gave me hamster cheeks when my mouth was full of air that couldn’t go anywhere , so had to keep opening my mouth to let the air out , which sounded like darth vader, inevitably both myself and husband didn’t get much sleep, tried again the next night, same thing, it doesn’t work well if you’re CPAP machine is set to a high level it can’t cope with pressure above 9 . Waste of money should have spent the money on kids for Christmas instead.
That's a shame your experience wasn't good, but we would point out that the squeaking noise is usually caused by a build-up of certain washing detergents, so if you can try using something with citrus to remove any remnants of a detergent. We also must rrespond to your comment where you state there is a reduction on air when sleeping on your site, as it's very important others don't read this and think it is true. We know this for sure, as we also needed proof at the charity this didn't happen and use a manometer to test the pressures when laying on the side. Finally, you state the DreamWear can't cope with pressures over 9, but it definitely can as a pressure of 9 is actually quite low and most people have pressures above this. Our own CEO uses this mask with a pressure of 25 on VPAP.Sorry for the length of our reply, but it was very important to address your comments to help others as if they were true Philips Respironics would be in serious trouble if their mask was causing problems with pressure flows. However, you are welcome to contact us so that we can help you with your problems.
New design takes getting used to but I think it stays in place rather better.
After trying ones via the NHS. This is by far the most comfortable one by far. Well worth every penny.
We're always so pleased to hear people have found a good comfortable mask, even though they often have to purchase it themselves. However, the mask is just as important as the machine for uninterrupted sleep and good therapy 😊
Fantastic product, I wanted to try a nasal mask as the full face mask I have was causing sores on the bridge of my nose. This is a dream come true complete freedom of movement, no more sores and extremely comfortable
So pleased your new DreamWear worked out for you Christine 😊

The Consumer Contracts Regulations 28.(3)(a) confirms exemption as follows:- "exemption in the case of a contract for the supply of sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, if they become unsealed after delivery."
Unopened (sealed) products in their original packing can be returned within 14 days for a refund of the product cost, but the purchaser is to pay the return postage, and we would advise retaining proof of postage. This excludes any faulty goods, for which postage will be reimbursed.
